LOCAL producer Russell Charadza, aka Russo, has released his latest production, Kutsva Kwendebvu, a collaboration that includes dendera artiste Sulumani Chimbetu and urban groover Victor Dhliwayo aka Victor D.

Report by Tinashe Sibanda

Kutsva Kwendebvu is an exciting mix of dendera, house and other genres carefully put together to produce one sound with a positive message that encourages unity.

“This song is definitely one of its kind as we fused the sound not for a particular following, but to cater for a wider audience of people who love various musical genres,” Russo said.

He said the musicians would soon shoot a video for the song and he had no doubt that it would be a hit.

Russo also expressed gratitude to Sulumani for actually coming up with the concept.

Speaking on his latest project, Sulumani said he had had the concept in his mind for a long time and now he felt it was just time to unleash it with the right people from other genres.

“Through this song, I am encouraging people, not only musicians, but also businesspeople and other sectors to come together in unity. That way, everyone could help build the nation,” he said.

Sulumani said this was his own way as a musician to encourage nation building and to him leading by example was the first step.

Victor D of the Kushamura Newe fame said he believed the rare collaboration would shock a lot of people and excite them at the same time, while encouraging the spirit of collaboration.

“I have never done such collaboration with a singer from a totally different genre, but to my surprise Sulu pulled it well and I feel honoured to have worked with him,” he said.

Victor D said those people who knew that they were working on the project had been nagging him to quickly release it, thus he had no doubt that even those who were not aware would still love it.
