THE national soccer team has dropped one place to 101 on the Fifa World rankings.

It also dropped two places in Africa to position 28.
The Warriors had remained stagnant on 100th position in the world and 26 in Africa in the last rankings released in March after defeating Botswana’s Zebras 2-1 in an international friendly match earlier in February.
But it appears their 1-2 defeat to Egypt in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Alexandria on 26 March has contributed to their downfall on the Fifa Coca-Cola rankings.
The defeat by Klaus Dieter Pagels’ men to Egypt saw them missing a seat at the World Cup table in Brazil as they remained with just a single point from three matches, while Egypt are now favourites to clinch one of the only five slots reserved for Africa.
Egypt moved seven places up to 68th position in the world from 75 in last month’s ranking. They are now ranked 15th in Africa, up one place from 16.
Guinea, whom Zimbabwe date in June after the back-to-back clashes with Egypt, moved two places up the ladder to 70 and 16th in the World and the Confederation of African Football (Caf) ratings respectively.
