Report by Sindiso Dube
The 26-track double CD album will feature songs in English and Shona, and the all-night launch will see musicians like P.O.Y, T9yce, Promethues Karizma, Vanessa and Crimzone Blu performing at a Harare night spot to be announced.
“On the album there are songs such as Amai featuring Trevor Dongo which is a dedication to all the mothers out there especially to my mom. I will be apologising for my childhood mischiefs like coming home late, skipping school and at one time I was expelled from school,” said Rymme Assassin.
Other hit songs on the album include Black hope, Ishe Tenzi featuring Good Child, Tamba Bhebhi and Women abuse.
Born in Chivhu in 1981, he spent the early years of his life in Highfield. He started writing songs and performing at high school gigs at Howard High School where he was expelled from school for leading a protest. Between 1999 and 2001, he made his mark on the local music scene before leaving for the UK where he relaunched his career.
Last year Rymme Assassin scooped the Zimbabwe Music Awards Best Male Artiste of the Year accolade given to Zimbabweans in the Diaspora, other artiste who were vying for the award were Decibel, B Kay and Kazz.
Besides music in the UK, the hip-hop artiste works as the operations manager at Eschol Brooke Security Options.
