Charlton Athletic have made a strong late charge in the race, picking 13 points from their last six matches to move to 9th position on the 24 log standings. The 27-year-old Pritchard played a total of 38 of the 42 games for Charlton, and proved his worthy once again as he poked home the opener after just four minutes. It was the midfielder’s second league goal of the season.

If they finish in the top six, the Addicks will play in the play-off for a ticket to the English Premier League.

England-born Tendayi Darikwa was also on the scoring sheet for his English League Two side Chesterfield who forced a 2-2 draw at home to Bradford City. The highly-rated Darikwa (21), who is born to Zimbabwean parents, scored his side’s first goal.

He has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Everton.

Chesterfield are ninth on the log standings and will play in the promotional play-offs if they finish on seventh position.

Still in League Two, Onismor Bhasera played the whole match as his side Plymouth Argyle conceded a last-minute goal of optional time to fall 1-0 at Burton Albion. It was also all smiles for former Warriors man Joseph Ngwenya in America, as he scored an opening goal for Richmond Kickers as they earned a 4-1 win over defending champions Charleston Battery in the USL PRO League, a second-tier to the Major League Soccer.

In South Africa, Cuthbert Malajila scored an eighth minute goal for Maritzburg, but it was not enough to help his side advance to the Nedbank Cup semi-final. They lost 2-1 to SuperSport United who had Simba Sithole sidelined by an injury.

Willard Katsande and Lincoln Zvasiya started for Kaizer Chiefs while Kingston Nkhata was a 53rd minute sub for the Soweto giants as they also sneaked through to the Nedbank semis at the expense of Rodreck Mutuma’s Bloemfontein Celtic. The former Dynamos midfielder played the whole match.

Esrom Nyandoro and Method Mwanjali also started for Mamelodi Sundowns who fell 2-1 to Platinum Stars. Nyasha Mushekwi came with six minutes left.

Edward Sadomba was an 80th minute substitute for his Al Ittihad Kalba side in the United Emirates Arab League as they went 3-1 down to Asamoah Gyan’s Al Ain. The Ghanaian superstar scored the third goal for his side. Sadomba was signed to save the club from relegation, but the mission is proving impossible as Kalba have not moved from the bottom of the log since the former Dynamos ace joined in the last transfer window. They have lost five of their last five league matches.

In Denmark, Quincy Antipas’s Brondby side were brought down to earth after they were thrashed 3-0 by Sønderjyske. Brondby had won two of their previous matches, results that briefly gave them relegation relief as they moved off the relegation zone. However, they are still in danger as they have 27 points, the same number as the two relegation-affected sides.

Augsburg eased their relegation worries in the German Bundesliga with a 2-0 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt with Knowledge Musona playing no part. The Warriors man was on the bench.
