The album, titled Ndakupihwa NaMwari, which will feature eight tracks among them Ngaasare, Mainini, Ndafunga Fungai and Anondibata Zvakanaka, is scheduled for release in June this year.

In an interview with NewsDay Entertainment, Mudondo said he had dedicated the album to his childhood sweetheart with whom he was set to tie the knot in December.

“It’s been my tradition to do a wedding song on each and every album I do. Ndakupihwa NaMwari complements such great wedding songs like Makorokoto, Makoikoi, Chirangano, Amphlope, Zuva Guru, Mhemberero and Mwenga, among others,” he said.

“The song is a dedication to my childhood sweetheart Paidamoyo with whom I expect to tie the knot with this December.”

The musician, who is studying for a diploma in advertising, sales, public relations and marketing, said he had suspended live performances due to pressure of his studies.

“I had slowed down on live gigs due to pressure from my studies, but I’m happy to announce to my fans that I’m finally done with school and will be graduating in August.”

Mudondo’s album, which is being produced by renowned producer Russel “Russo” Chiradza, will be complemented by two promotional singles and a video to hit the airwaves this month.
