Kendagor (29) came home in 59min 36secs to win the men’s race ahead of compatriot Silas Kipruto (1hr 12secs) and Victor Kipchirchir (1hr 27sec), while Helah Kiprop celebrated her 28th birthday by winning in 1hour 07,54min.

Compatriot Philes Ongori, who won the 2012 race, finished second in 1hour 08,01min with Japan’s Mai Ito third in 1hour 10,00min to prevent Kenyan athletes claiming the top three places in both competitions.
