DJ Tira came on stage before midnight to a rousing welcome from his fans who braved the chilly weather to watch him perform at the venue’s spacious car park.

He immediately launched into song, sending his fans into a frenzy.
DJ Tira played songs that he has produced for Big Nuz and others by other house music disc jockeys.

He would occasionally pick up the microphone and sing with two other musicians he came with before going back to the turntables to play some more dance tunes.

The veteran producer played for up to three hours before taking a breather.

Speaking to NewsDay before the performance, he vowed to entertain his fans.

“I have good things for people here. We have a new album with Big Nuz and Cindo titled Cindo Volume 5,” he said.

His advice to upcoming disc jockeys was that they should work hard.
“They must work hard and respect those who have been in the industry for a long time. They must not chase after women,” said the Dj who is married and is a father of two.

DJ Tira hails from Durban.

Bulawayo-based upcoming disc jockeys,DJs Kananjo, Slamma, Tick Tock and Nizhe kicked off the proceedings, while ragga musician Centre Party was the MC.

DJ Tira, real name Mthokozisi Khathi, has produced a string of hits with the group Big Nuz that include Umlilo, Ungesabi, S’phelele La, Won’t let You Go and many others.
