DJ Tira hails from Durban.

Show promoter Marshall Mpofu told NewsDay yesterday that all was set for the event.

“We have made all the necessary arrangements in terms of clearance for him to perform,” said Mpofu.

“DJ Tira has confirmed that he is coming.”

Mpofu said Tira would be backed by local DJs.

DJs Kananjo, Slamma, Tick Tock and Nizhe will kick off the proceedings, while raga musician Centre Party will be the MC.

“”We are still inviting more local DJs. They can use this opportunity to showcase their talent. They should come and see us,” he said.

Mpofu said Tira’s fans would have an opportunity to get a taste of the new Big Nuz album which will be launched on the night.

“Big Nuz have collaborated with Cindo to work on a new album which will only be released in June. However, those who will come to the show will get to hear the new album as Tira will also launch it at Stop Over Bar,” he said.

DJ Tira, real name Mthokozisi Khathi, has produced a string of hits with the group Big Nuz that include Umlilo, Ungesabi, S’phelele La, Won’t let You Go and many others.

He has his own house music label called Afrotainment. DJ Tira last performed in Bulawayo last year.
