Zahara will share the stage with Oliver Mtukudzi, Alexio Kawara and Mokoomba.

She is expected at the Harare International Airport at 11:50am with her band.

The diva and local musicians slated to perform at the gig will be at Cellone Electronics offices in the city centre for a Press conference around 2pm.

They will be treated to a get-together luncheon at a city hotel later in the afternoon.

Show organiser Chris Musabayane of Ghetto Fabulous Entertainment said they had put everything in place for the pre-show activities to bring the musicians together before the main event.

“We want the musicians to meet on a social platform before the show,” said Musabayane.

“It is important that the performers spend time together off the stage. Such arrangements facilitate exchange of ideas and open up chances for the musicians to work together on other projects in future without the intervention of promoters.

“It benefits our local artistes to interact with their international counterparts. Alexio and Mtukudzi have worked with Zahara before, but Mokoomba will be sharing the stage with her for the first time. These are musicians of diverse backgrounds and bringing them together will definitely benefit all parties.”

Musabayane said partnering with Cellone Electronics for the show was a sign of the corporate world’s preparedness to support the arts and local talent in general. He said the partnership would ensure a colourful event.

“There will be various activities at the show to keep the audience entertained. We are promising a world-class event because we have done enough groundwork for a historic show.”

The show will be one of Mtukudzi’s farewell gigs lined-up ahead of his international tour that begins next week. The musician has made this weekend a special one for his Harare fans.

His other farewell event will be a family show at Pamuzinda Highway X-Scape on Sunday.

The musician has set the family function to say a fun-filled adieu to fans of all ages. He will share the stage with Peter Moyo and Munya Mataruse.

One of the organisers of the family show, Tawanda Chiraga, said fans would bid their icon farewell in style on Sunday.

“He is going to one of the historic tours since he will share the stage with Thomas Mapfumo in the United Kingdom,” said Chiraga.

“These are two great Zimbabwean musicians going to conquer a foreign land. It will be a big international show and I feel Tuku deserves our blessings. People should come with their families and dance with the superstar before he goes on an international mission. We have pegged the entry fee at $5 to make it affordable to many people. Children under the age of 12 will attend the gig free of charge.”
