The show, which initially faced a threat of another dismal attendance, was packed by revellers who thronged the venue around midnight.

Tuku won the night as he danced throughout his performance, defying his old age.

Turning 61 this year, the katekwe musician left a good number of revellers in the crowd awestruck as he exhibited immense energy as if out to prove a point.

His playlist, carefully chosen, looked to urge on the proceedings with tracks from his latest album Sarawoga as well as oldies like Cheka Ukama and many others.

Fidelis Ngove, the proprietor of the venue, said he was pleased with the show.

“It was a splendid show. This has become one of Tuku’s venues and he knows he is always welcome,” Ngove said.

Before Tuku had performed, Taruvinga Manjokoto, (aka Shuga Shuga) — who remains in the doldrums despite having tasted fame with some of his early recordings — presented a number of songs. Josphat Somanje, who also played as a supporting act, tried his best although it was still evident that Daiton was missing.

The two brothers’ love-hate relationship is responsible for their fall from grace and it is always conspicuous when they perform separately.

It remains to be seen whether the days of Tsaona will in the near future return or they will remain in the bygones.
