The musicians, famed for their collaboration on Chimbetu’s song titled Sean Timba (popularly known as Batai Munhu), have formed what could become a formidable amalgamation on the local music front.

Both are doing well in their individual capacities and the new format could cause waves in showbiz. A number of joint shows have been lined up in and outside Harare in the next few weeks.

Their first major show together was at the Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza early this year. Last weekend the duo performed at Extra Mile Leisure Spot and tonight they take their act to Pamuzinda Highway X-scape.

Chimbetu’s public relations manager Joe “Local” Nyamungoma said the arrangement was meant to strengthen their relationship and give fans an exciting package of performances.

“Sulu’s relationship with Jah Prayzah is not limited to the Sean Timba collaboration,” said Nyamungoma.

“The two have worked together on a number of personal projects and collaborating on the song was just manifestation of a good relationship. We are grateful that the song has become a hit and we want people to enjoy our combined act at live shows.”

Jah Prayzah said his wish was to work with as many musicians as possible but added he was excited with his combination with Chimbetu. “People enjoyed our collaboration and the best way to thank them for their support is to meet them in various venues around the country and present our joint performances,” he said.

“There were numerous requests for these joint shows and we are just responding to our fans’ needs. We know their support can take us to a higher level.”

The musicians could not perform Sean Timba together at Extra Mile Leisure Spot last weekend because Jah Prayzah had to rush to attend to pressing personal commitments. They have promised to do the duet at Pamuzinda Highway X-scape tonight.

One of the organisers of the show Farai Mushore said he was happy to work with two of the most popular musicians in the country. “This combination promises to take the industry by storm. I am happy to be involved in one of their collaborative act. We have come up with a good entertainment set-up for fans at the venue,” said Mushore.

“In addition to various give-away prizes and fun games, we have pitched a huge tent to allay any rain fears. It is likely to be a big event.”

Mushore thanked African Distillers for supporting the event through their Hunters brand promotion.
