The Young Igwe, as the musician is affectionately known, joined Chimbetu on stage for a song called Bhora Mberi.

Lyrics of the song brought emotions to the musician who then failed to contain himself.

“Muri Mwari we nherera mudzike namasimba (You are God of orphans, come down with your power),” goes part of the lyrics.

As he sang that part, Moyo expressed how he felt about his late father Tongai, a celebrated sungura artiste who died in March last year.

“The month of March is important for me because my father started teaching me how to play instruments in March,” an emotional Peter said.

He added that he was touched by Chimbetu’s song that resulted in him breaking down.

Moyo also took the time to launch his website peterdhewa.com, which he said would keep his fans updated on several issues.

“The day I get married you will be informed by the website and everything you want to know about me will be updated on that website,” Peter said.

Speaking at the same occasion, Chimbetu said he was happy to have combined shows with Peter.

“Yes, I understand that our fathers died when we still needed their guidance, but we have to be strong,” Chimbetu said.

Turning to his father’s commemoration, the Kumapako hit-maker said all artistes lined up had already confirmed their participation. “The idea is we are going to charge an affordable fee for the gig and those who will turn up will get copies of the new album,” Chimbetu said.

He added that musician Alick Macheso, his cousin Sulumani, Jah Prayzah and Moyo were some of the artistes that  had already confirmed their participation.
