While his collaboration with Sulumani Chimbetu on a song titled Sean Timba is making waves, the dreadlocked musician has gone a step further to lure Oliver Mtukudzi and Progress Chipfumo for his upcoming album.

Mtukudzi and Chipfumo will feature on different songs of the 10-track album titled Tsviriyo that will be released this month. On his last album titled Ngwarira Kuparara, Jah Prayzah collaborated with Chiwoniso Maraire and Somandla Ndebele.

“I have realised that there is power in working together,” Jah Prayzah said.

“I have worked with various musicians in many projects and have realised that, besides giving audiences variety, collaborations unite artistes.”

The Gochi Gochi-hitmaker was speaking at the sidelines of a recent show during which he praised fellow musicians for the unity exhibited in various collaborations he has done so far.

“I have worked with Sulu, Mtukudzi, Somandla, Sister Jean, Chiwoniso and many other upcoming musicians and I really enjoy how we do things together,” he announced on stage. “In this industry, it is important to work together and share ideas. This is no longer the time to attack each other through songs. The music industry has to unite musicians and other artists such as dancers and comedians.”

On the title-track of the upcoming album, Jah Prayzah acknowledges the work that fellow musicians do in their various capacities. He celebrates diversity and salutes artistes for rallying behind artistes of different genres.

He said he was looking forward to more collaborations and is prepared to feature on any musician’s project.

“Every musicians wants to work with the superstar (Mtukudzi) and I was very happy when he agreed to feature on my album. He is a talented musician and it did not take him time to add lines to my song titled Cecilia.”
