Several cars parked under trees were damaged along Fourth Street and Montague shopping centre, among others, after some of the trees were uprooted and landed on the vehicles.

Nenyere flats in Mbare had roofs blown off by the blusterous storm.

Although officials at the Meteorological Department declined to comment on the latest storm demanding written questions instead, the department had earlier predicted cloudy conditions with scattered afternoon and evening thundershowers across Zimbabwe.

Some parts of Harare also experienced a power outage in the afternoon, but strenuous efforts to get a comment from Zesa spokesperson Fullard Gwasira were fruitless.
