Penciled in for Wednesday at Jazz 105, the party will be graced by various stakeholders that include the corporate world, promoters, fans, friends and family.

According to the musician’s manager Trevor Jakachira, the party is being thrown to celebrate Sulu’s achievements.

“I feel the nine awards that Sulu has scooped with four albums speak volumes on his growth into becoming his own man,” said Jakachira. “All this would never have been possible if there was no support from the corporate world and the fans in general.”

Sulu’s public relations manager Joe Nyamungoma said this would be the time to thank everyone involved in building the musician’s brand.

“I think it is important to come together to share the joy that we are experiencing at the moment,” said Nyamungoma.

“We have chosen Jazz 105 because of its centrality and also the fact that the proprietor, Josh Hozheri, has been consistent in his support of Sulu.”

Hozheri said the event was important to congratulate Sulu and all stakeholders.

He said the party would be attended strictly by invitation.

Sulu made a bold statement of his status on the Zimbabwean music scene through the awards.

He has made inroads on the international market, produced good music and has the gongs to prove it. That astounding as it may be, what is left for Sulu is to achieve musical immortality, a trait that his father Simon achieved with his timeless songs.
