DYNAMOS’ opposition in the Caf Champions League preliminary round stage, Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS), said they are itching to face the Harare giants.

The two teams clash in the first leg at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday with the reverse fixture set for Maseru in a fortnight.

LCS head coach Mosholu “Shoes” Mokhothu said he was aware of the task that awaited him and bemoaned his team’s haphazard preparations ahead of the match.

However, Shoes remained confident of his team’s triumph.

“It is never easy in this competition and we know that our opponents are a very good side.

“The players are aware that Dynamos is a great team with a rich history in the continental competition, but they are determined to do well and fly the flag of our country high,” Mokhothu told Lesotho Times yesterday.

“I’m happy that the second leg of the match will be played here at home. We will go to Zimbabwe and try to come out with positive results and hopefully play better here with the home ground advantage,”

He added: “We did not have the best preparations leading to this match considering that we have only played a friendly game against Free State Stars while our last league match was in December last year.”

Lesotho teams have struggled to make it past the preliminary stages of the continental competition for years and Arsenal remain the only side to have made it to the quarter-finals in 1993.

LCS were last season knocked out in the preliminaries by Uganda Revenue Authority — with a 3-0 loss aggregate score.
