CONTINUOUS power cuts hit sungura musician Alick Macheso’s Harare Gardens show on Sunday afternoon.

Report by Tawanda Marwizi

The show, which failed to attract as big a crowd as it has in the past, was marred by power failure forcing the organiser to resort to generators. They had to change the generators as they failed to meet the voltage requirements for the equipment.

Besides the power cuts, the musician’s sound system also had a problem.Macheso, however, said he had already procured a new system from South Africa.

“It is on its way and I am sure we will have it in the next two weeks,” he said.

Macheso introduced a new dance called yambongo in which he pleads to God to drop money from heavens.
