JOHANNESBURG — Oscar Pistorius could be banned from competition if the drugs allegedly found in his home turn out to be prohibited substances for athletes. — Sowetan A former chairman of the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport said yesterday that the mere possession of drugs was a doping offence, alongside other infringements such as trafficking and tampering with samples.

The Times reported yesterday that boxes of drugs and several syringes were found in Pistorius’s home.

Dressed in a dark suit, Pistorius arrived at the court in a police car shortly before 7am. Proceedings were delayed as more than 100 journalists from around the world jostled to get into the dimly lit, brick-face courtroom.
