AWARD-WINNING urban grooves musician, Enock Guni aka Nox, will this year spread his wings internationally when he collaborates with one of Africa’s finest award-winning musicians, Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Report by Tinashe Sibanda

A source close to the Ndinonyara hitmaker revealed that the two musicians had already discussed the collaboration, but were keeping information of their upcoming project under wraps.

Nox could neither deny nor confirm the development, but said he would let the public know about any deal at the right time.

“That is still classified information. When everything is ready for the public, we will let everyone know,” he said.

However, Nox said he was planning on various collaborations with other African stars and he hoped that 2013 would be another great year in his musical career.

Ipupa is a popular singer and songwriter who was part of the Kofi Olomide’s Quartier Latin International Band from 1999 to 2006 before starting a solo career.

His first solo album was titled Droit Chenim released in 2006 and his second album Arsenal de Belles Melodies (A2BM) was released in 2009.

In 2007, Ipupa won the Kora Awards for Best Artiste or Group from Central Africa and in 2010 he won the MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Video (for Sexy Dance) and Best Francophone.

Guni won his first award last year at the Zimbabwe Music and Arts Awards for the Touring Artiste of the Year Award in the United Kingdom.
