Speaking after he was presented his award as the outstanding comedian, Ncube thanked Stunner, Pokelo and Maneta for what they did last year. Maneta was kicked out of Big Brother Star game together with fellow Zimbabwean Rockford Josphat following a “monkey” fight.
“I dedicate this award to Stunner, Pokelo and Maneta who have done all this and that’s why I got the award,” he said.
Explaining his statement at the sidelines of the event, Ncube said as stand-up comedians they got their jokes from the burning issues of the day.
“That’s how we get our jokes. Issues at stake in the society give us work,” he said.
The versatile comedian urged upcoming stand-up comedians to be courageous and to work hard in order to achieve better goals.
The South African-based comedian said he was happy with the manner in which stand-up comedy was shaping up in Zimbabwe.
He thanked the Zimbabwe Germany Society who sponsor Simuka Comedy for supporting comedy in Zimbabwe.
