The elections took place at the Highlanders Clubhouse yesterday morning and both winners will serve three-year terms.

Mpofu shrugged off challenge from outgoing vice-chairman Sikhanyiso Moyo beating him by eight votes after polling 88 votes from the 224 members of the electorate who cast their ballots.

Sibanda’s win was a landslide victory after he polled 145 votes against the only candidate who challenged him for the treasurer’s post Charles Nondo who picked up 45 votes.

Mpofu was ecstatic after the victory and said the fact that he was based in Harare was not going to be a challenge, but an advantage for the country’s oldest football club.
