JOHANNESBURG — The Nigeria Football Federation has reminded the Super Eagles that they would not go back on their pledge to shell out $15 000 to each player if they are able to beat an Ivorian side inspired by Didier Drogba and African Footballer of the Year Yaya Touré.

Supersport.com has uncovered that more money awaits each Eagle after each victory at this stage. For the semi-finals each player will be $20 000 richer. For victory in the championship game on February 10, each player will pocket another $30 000.
Each player has already received $30 000 after the team defeated Ethiopia and qualified for the quarter-finals on Tuesday. In addition to this team sponsor Guinness has also made a financial commitment for goals scored at the Afcon, estimated to be around $5 000. Also waiting in the wings is billionaire Aliko Dangote, who has insinuated that he would add to the pot if the Eagles progress.
