ALICK Macheso travels to South Africa next week for a tour across the Limpopo River this year.

It will be the musician’s first show in SA since the release of his latest album Kwatakabva Mitunhu (Kure Kwekure).
The sungura maestro is scheduled to perform in Johannesburg at Chez Ntemba and Safari International Hotel on March 8 and 9.
At both shows, he will share the stage with South Africa-based urban grooves musician Enoch Guni aka Nox.
The duo has performed together on several occasions and last year they had a similar tour in Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Johannesburg has become one of Macheos’s favourite foreign hunting grounds owing to the high number of Zimbabweans in that city.
Macheso’s assistant manager Jetiel Machanja yesterday told NewsDay they are taking the trip as a marketing platform for their latest album.

“This is our first show in South Africa since the release of Kwatakabva Mitunhu, Kure kwekure and we will give our fans in SA the best of live performance of the new material,” said Machanja.
“We are going to try our best to keep our fans entertained throughout the tour.”
Machanja said the combination with Nox would bring variety to the tour, adding that their previous shows with the urban grooves musician had proved popular.
“We have played with Nox for a number of times in South Africa and his inclusion ensures there is variety of both music and fans,” he said.
“It means there is music for urban grooves music lovers and mature music lovers and ultimately it means there will be more people at the show than either musician would expect when performing individually.”
Machanja said the band would depart Harare on March 6 by road while Macheso and manager William Tsandukwa will fly to Johannesburg the following day.
