Mhere will be holding his first major live show while Vabati VaJehovah and Bethany Pasinewako are expected to spice up the event. Mhere, who undoubtedly is the man of the moment within the gospel music fraternity, is expected to prove his mettle following allegations that he copied Blessing Shumba.

“The show is on and it is going to be one of many to come this year. I am currently talking to Shumba about it and I hope all will go well,” said Mhere.

“Other musicians who will take part include Bethany Pasinewako-Ngolomi and Vabati VaJehovah,” he said.

Mutare-based Shumba, however, could not confirm his participation. “I have heard about the show, but I can’t confirm my participation yet. We are still planning,” Shumba said.

Shumba who earned the title The New Charamba because of his instant popularity on the gospel arena is expected to prove his mettle as he is also riding high with his latest album Shongwe.

The advent of Shumba on the music scene saw the Handina Mhaka hitmaker attracting a huge following with his pulsating music hogging the limelight in kombis, pubs and entertainment joints.

On the other hand, Mhere is expected to dish out hit songs like Favour, Areka and Chipostora.

However, the Chitungwiza-based musician has been under fire after two musicians claimed that he was not the owner of the song Favour. Apostolic choral group, Vabati VaJehovah, who have been dorminant since 1999 are expected to belt out most of their popular songs like Mutumwa, Handikusiyei and Wauya Mucheki.

Bethany Pasinewako, who is also backing vocalist for both Shumba and Mhere, will have a chance to perform her popular song Ndinzverei and others.
