At exactly 11:23pm on Saturday evening Jah Prayzah stormed the stage at Pick ‘n’ Save open air joint.

Clad in his usual all-red regalia, the musician started his performance with the song Chirangano.

Using a codeless microphone, the dreadlocked musician started singing just after disembarking from his Toyota Progress car that was parked outside the venue.

The audience went into a frenzy after hearing his voice, but all had to wait for his appearance on stage.

When he finally went on stage, the crowd went wild and danced all night to the musician’s popular songs as he gave an electrified performance.

Even businessman Esau Mupfumi who runs the joint could not hide his joy as Jah Prayzah performed.

Gochi Gochi, Chirangano, Maria, Ngwarira Kuparara and Sango were some of the tall musician’s songs that sent fans into a frenzy. He also sampled songs from his new album Tsviriyo, which he said would be released in March.

Speaking after the show, the musician said he was humbled by the support he got from the people of Manicaland.

“It’s so encouraging to see people coming in numbers and I will give them the best every time I come to perform here. I have been playing songs from the upcoming album and the response has been overwhelming.”

He said the new album would feature a collaboration with superstar Oliver Mtukudzi titled Cecelia.

Mutare-based musician Hosiah Chipanga performed ahead of Jah Prayzah and presented a commendable act.
