The eThekwini delegation will be led by mayor James Nxumalo.

The South African city, also known as Durban, has in the past been working with the city in various water and sanitation projects under the Bulawayo Water and Sanitation Emergency Response project.

Bulawayo and eThekwini mayors signed a statement of intent in 2002 in which they pledged to assist each other through technical exchange programmes.

According to a council report, the delegation will be booked at a local five-star hotel where the local authority will pay $11 288.

As gifts, council would buy khaki shirts worth $350, caps ($98), mayoral gifts ($600) and crested beer mugs worth $210.

Decorations at the Large City Hall would be done by a local company at a cost of $845 and Siyaya Arts is set to provide entertainment.

Another $2 000 has been set aside for the provision of meals and refreshments during the visit.
