Bernard Bhowa entered the Gweru magistrates court dressed in a knee-cut yellow overall bearing President Robert Mugabe’s signature, in violation of the dress code expected at court.

A surprised Gweru magistrate Primrose Nyika asked Bhowa if he had come for a performance, to which he answered in the affirmative and later apologised that he had not heard the question properly.

“Have you come for a circus?” asked Nyika before warning and allowing Bhowa to testify. She asked him to leave the courtroom soon after his testimony.

Bhowa had come as a State witness in a case involving Kelab Msipa and Jephias Marata who were being accused of assaulting Lymon Moyo over a girlfriend and stealing $200 from him.

The alleged incident occurred at a city night-club last November.
