The Kwekwe-based musician will start his 2013 shows calendar with his permanent group following the recovery of his band members who were injured in an accident on December 15.

Eight Utakataka Express members had an accident 10km out of Kadoma on their way to Harare for a private function. Three of the members were seriously injured.

The driver of the Toyota Elgrand they were travelling in lost control of the vehicle after one of its tyres burst resulting in the car overturning once and hitting a tree.

“I am happy to say that the guys are better now and I will be performing in about a week’s time with all my band members,” said the Young Igwe, as he is affectionately known. He said the accident brought a difficult time for the band and band members’ families, but he was happy about their recovery.

Moyo said due to the disturbance, his long awaited debut album which he had hoped to release early this year would now be released early June.

“We are currently practising songs from the new album and plans are underway to have it on the market in June. I might feature some guys that came in to assist me at shows when the injured were in hospital,” he said.

Moyo added that although the accident had affected his band towards the busy festive season, his fans should expect bigger and better performances this year.

He said one thing his fans needed to know about his 2013 plans was that he would be playing the guitar more than he did previously.

“I’m happy to say that the vocal lessons I’m currently taking with Pastor Charles Charamba are going well and I’m definitely coming out this year bigger than before.”

Moyo said he would hold his first show in Harare or any Midlands town this month-end.
