THE Zimbo Under-20 Rugby Cup round robin stage is on tomorrow with interesting fixtures lined up at Hartsfield grounds.

The tournament, which has been running for the past two weeks, is set be concluded on January 26 where the top two teams from the pool of four will play in the final.

Western Panthers, who are already through to the final, take on Old Miltonians (OMs) in what promises to be a tight affair, while title holders Busters will be looking to sweep past an already out-of-contention Bulldogs.

OMs need nothing short of victory when they meet Panthers to advance to the finals, as they will go ahead of the defending champions by a bonus point they were awarded when the two sides met.

The tournament is being used to select the Bulawayo provincial Under-20 squad to play against Botswana on March 9 in a match that will be a curtain raiser for the much-anticipated South Africa-Zimbabwe Legends clash.

Justin Mendlesohn, who turns out for Busters as the prop, Panthers forward Irvine Nduwa, lock Kudakwashe Takawira, Panthers fly-half Taurisai Mugariri, Mthokozisi Moyo, as well as Walter Gode who plays as a full-back at Busters, have been some of the outstanding players who have raised their game during the tournament to attract the attention of the selectors.

Speaking in an interview with NewsDay Sport, Busters coach Sean Robinson said his side’s fate rested in the Panthers-OMs clash. “We will do our best in the Bulldogs game and we will go all out as if we are playing in the final. We will go in as hard as possible and hope that Panthers do us a favour by beating OMs,” Robinson said.
