Chungwa scored 36 goals for Eastern Region Division One football league runners-up Hippo Valley last season.

“Playing for Caps United will not be an easy task because it is one of the biggest clubs in the country.

“But I’m aiming to be at my best and scoring goals the way I used to do at Hippo.

“There is no doubt I’m going to make it. I just need to focus on my game and to work very hard, I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, but from what I have heard, they are going to make me settle fast as I want to deliver the goods,” he said.

Taku Shariwa, who was Chungwa’s coach at Hippo, said the striker is sharp in both aerial tussles and ground play.

“Given time to settle, he is going to be the country’s next hit. It’s difficult to come from a small town to the capital and be a hit, but I’m happy that he is now a mature person.

“He managed to lead Hippo for two years and it’s not easy to be at the helm at the club because it is a club with high expectations,” Shariwa said.

“He is a player who works very hard and is good in the air and on the ground. He makes use of half chances and hopefully he is going to continue in that form.”

Caps United also signed Hippo Valley defenders Ronald Pfumbidzai and Steven Makatuka.
