The MDC T Bulawayo province has officially opened the campaign race for the party’s Parliamentary primary elections in the city, with provincial secretary Reggie Moyo saying violent aspirants would be disqualified. Staff Reporter This comes after the party’s elections directorate released guidelines and rules for electing MPs and councillors last week.

“We have officially opened the campaign race for those who want to stand in primaries as parliamentary and council candidates,” he said.

“This is just competition among party members and we will not tolerate any member who wants to cause violence and divisions in the party during the campaigns.”

The launch was held last week in Entumbane and Nketa constituencies which fell vacant following the death of legislators Cornelius Dube and Seiso Moyo respectively.

Candidates eyeing Entumbane and Nketa constituencies are Prince Dube and Mandlenkosi Sibanda, who is also the party’s provincial spokesperson.
