Club media liaison officer  Chido Chizondo yesterday confirmed the squad was going into camp although she could not  be drawn into disclosing the venue. Sources are pointing to either  Victoria Falls or Kariba.

“FC Platinum will be going into camp on Monday. I will give you all the details on Monday,” she said.

Chizondo said the platinum miners were still awaiting the work permit of newly-appointed head coach Tennant Chilumba from the Home Affairs ministry.

The Zambian gaffer led Hwange to a fourth-place finish  in 2011 guaranteeing them a slot in the Confederation Cup, but struggled last year resulting in Chilumba quitting  the senior team to concentrate on juniors.

FC Platinum parted ways with former Warriors mentor Rahman Gumbo last season and his assistant Tendai Chikuni took over as caretaker coach.

The club have for this year axed former captain Zephaniah Ngodzo, Cabby Kamhapa, Thandazani Ndlovu, Rowen Nenzou, Norman Togara, Tafadzwa Dube and Tsungi Mudzamiri, among other senior players. They have since recalled 2012 Premiership top goalscorer Nelson Mazivisa, who was on loan to Shabanie Mine, as well as Raymond Sibanda and Frankson Bushire from their neighbours while also recalling Ntokozo Tshuma whom they had swopped for Hardlife Mavundi with Chicken Inn.

FC Platinum have also signed the Hwange duo of Zambian defender Aaron Katebe and goalkeeper Petros Mhari.

“Kugona Kunenge Kudada” have also captured youngster Mhleli Sibanda from Quelaton as well as national Under-20 twins Kelvin and Elvis Moyo from Bantu Rovers while promoting young Terrence Rukweza from the U-16 team to battle for a place in the senior team along with shot stopper Talbert Shumba.
