Amini had been due for trials with an Absa Premiership side in South Africa, but did not manage to make the trip.

Platinum caretaker coach Tendai Chikuni said preparations for the new season are on course and camp in Kariba has been going on well.

“We have been here in Kariba trying to adapt to all conditions in our pre-season preparations. Everything is in place. All the guys that we have enlisted for the season reported for duty and they are all here.

“I have a 30-member squad in camp. We also need to build one family as we bond together,” Chikuni said.

Last year’s Castle Lager Premiership Golden Boot winner, Nelson Mazivisa, who had been loaned to neighbours Shabanie and is likely to be the main attraction at Platinum, is in Kariba and is part of the squad that is travelling to Zambia.

Some of the senior players in camp include skilful Joel “Josta” Ngodzo, bustling striker Donald Ngoma, midfielder Thabani Kamusoko and defender Daniel Vheremu.

Former Hwange defender Aaron Katebe who joined fellow countryman Frank Mlambo at the Platinum miners is also in camp heading for his homeland for the Zanaco tie.

Other new players at FC Platinum are former Hwange goalkeeper Petros Mhari, Quelaton’s Mhleli Sibanda and Bantu Rovers twins Kevin and Elvis Moyo.

Goalkeeper Francis Tizayi and Talbert Shumba, who was promoted from the juniors, are also in Kariba awaiting the trip to Zambia.
