In a statement yesterday, ZITF’s deputy general manager Nomathemba Ndlovu said they were working closely with international companies to improve services and participation at the exhibition.

“International sales agents in Brazil, China, Germany, other countries in Europe and Pakistan are actively selling the exhibition,” she said.

“The trade promotion organisations in China, India and Pakistan are working closely with the company as well as our trade attachés in China, Brazil and Zambia.

“The agent in South Africa is also sourcing exhibitors in Angola, Ghana, Kenya, Netherlands, Nigeria and Zambia, while the agent in Brazil has extended his territory to cover Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.”

Ndlovu said they had received positive responses from Brazilian industrial and business associations complemented by the APEX initiative, the Brazilian Export Organisation that is communicating with a client base of over 5 000 contacts to ensure the widest possible reach in the Latin American country’s market.

“We are also likely to see an improvement in the Brazil and Latin America participation in 2013,” she said.

Ndlovu said China was set to be the biggest foreign exhibitor with 600 square metres of exhibition space booked following the success of ZITF 2012.

On the local scene, the ZITF official said a considerable number of bookings had been received from local companies.

“Participants can look forward to business match-making sessions to link local businesses with the foreign markets,” she said.

Ndlovu said the company had reserved over 6 000 square metres of exhibition space for ZITF 2013.

“We are positive to sell them out if the current trend continues.”

ZITF 2013 runs concurrently with A’sambeni Africa Tourism and Travel Expo, Pakprint, Scholastica and Ultim8 Home exhibitions.

Next year’s trade fair will run from April 23–27 under the theme “Building Value, Enhancing Growth”.
