The counting process, overseen by two representatives from the Premier Soccer League, the sponsors Delta Beverages and convenor of selectors, Steve Vickers and Charles Mabika, has been completed.

And before the expected eventful night, fans drawn from Harare and Bulawayo speak.

Below are their opinions

Vusisizwe Masuku, Bulawayo: Mambare played very well for Highlanders. I watched him play all the games home and away and he was good. He helped Highlanders win most of their games. Despite Highlanders not winning the championship, it does not mean a player cannot win the award. Mukamba played well for Dynamos, but Mambare was the better of the two.

Osborne Chitawu, Harare: Mukamba was very influential. He deserves to win the award. When he was not playing the team struggled and when he was there the team played well.

”Thokozani Dube, Bulawayo: Mambare played very good football. Highlanders goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda also stands a chance. He played well for Highlanders and also played for the national team

Collin Nyambiya, Bulawayo: Mambare did very well for Highlanders. He was consistent throughout the season. Mukamba’s game was sometimes down and he would disappear from the scene. It appeared like he was choosing games. Mambare played well the whole season.

Norman Kambidzi, Harare: Mukamba had an outstanding season and was consistent. He should be the soccer star of the year.

Michael Kutyauripo, Bulawayo: Mambare deserves the award. He was very visible whenever Highlanders played. Highlanders struggled last season, but Mambare was one player who performed well this season for Highlanders.

Oliver Sango, Bulawayo: Mukamba had a good season. He was called up for the national team because he was playing well for Dynamos.

Allison Moyo, Bulawayo: Mambare was outstanding throughout the season and scored many goals for Highlanders. He was holding the Highlanders midfield as well. Partson Jaure can also walk away with it. He played well in the Dynamos defence throughout the year.

Edwin Chitongo, Harare: Do you doubt Mukamba? He was the best player this season. It’s his award.

Tatenda Chitsungo, Harare: Mukamba was consistent. As a midfielder, he surpassed everyone because he scored lots of goals.

Lawrence Mafirowanda, Harare: He (Mukamba) dominated all season. I think his performance was unmatched this season.

Luckson Mashoko, Bulawayo: Mukamba will win the award. He was influential in holding the Dynamos midfield before he went for trials in South Africa and when he came back he continued again scoring many goals in the process. Jaure also stands a chance because he was the backbone of the Dynamos defence.

Vesto Sigauke, Bulawayo: Mukamba is a good player. He knows where to place the ball and shoots well in the process. Mambare also played well, but he should move to Dynamos because they will make a good combination with Mukamba.

William Mutsure, Bulawayo: Mukamba is a good ball dribbler and a good passer. He will win the award.

Hillary Masvingise, Harare: Mambare deserves to win the award. Mambare was outstanding all season. He deserves the award ahead of everyone else. He was outstanding and consistent for Highlanders. He is forceful and a great goalscorer.
