Mohamed Ibrahim of Sharkia opened the scoresheet in the fourth minute after converting a beautifully taken shot corner. Sharkia controlled the tempo of the game and displayed their proficient dribbling ability.

Hippo gained confidence and showed some resistance after the goal, but that was shortlived as Ayman Rahman Abdel found the back of the net in the 24th minute, leaving the local outfit deflated.

The Egyptians went on the rampage, tearing through the heart of the Hippo defence and were rewarded with goals in the 31st, as Abdel completed his brace and in the 34th minute Ahmed Abdalla put the score line at 4-0.

In an earlier game, Telkom Orange (Kenya) and Custom Ladies (Ghana) played to a goalless draw in the women’s section.
