The lanky striker continues to attract interest in South Africa, with Bloemfontein Celtic being the latest club to show a desire to sign him.

South African football giants Orlando Pirates and National first division side Dynamos have also expressed interest in the player. The 2011 Golden Boot winner, who still has a one year contract with the champions, is expected to go for trials in the new year.

However, the Dynamos leadership, who have already registered the player ahead of their African Champions League, are not prepared to release him should he pass the trials.

“We spoke to all our players and made it clear that those who wanted to leave could do so, but they accepted to be registered,” club chairman Kenni Mubaiwa says.

“So if there is a club interested in any of the players we registered, we won’t clear the player. We were very clear on this. As for Mutuma, he still has a contract with us up to 2013. We need the players for the Champions League.

“That is why we did not register Denver Mukamba because he had asked us not to register him.”

But Mutuma said he would meet with the Dynamos leadership to seek permission to go for trials. “It will be a good opportunity for me if I am offered a contract by any of these clubs. I am yet to be officially informed about the trials and will meet and talk to them (Dynamos) and hear what they will say.

“I know it will be difficult for them to release me but I will try to talk to them. I still have a contract up to the end of the year, but this is a good opportunity for me,” said Mutuma.

The transfer window opens on January 1.

Dynamos have submitted a 26-member squad to the Confederation of African Football (Caf) for their Champions League assignment as they bid to make up for the disappointment of the last campaign in which they were eliminated in the early stages of the competition following a humiliating 6-0 defeat to Tunisian giants Esperance.
