The trio will be part of a new group assembled by Moyo for the show following an accident that left eight of his band members injured last weekend.

The band members were involved in an accident near Kadoma on their way from the Unity Gala in Gokwe. Most of them are still hospitalised.

Shiga Shiga, Kumulani and Gaison are currently working with Energy Mutodi’s Mutodi Stars following their departure from Utakataka Express early this year.

Mutodi has given the band members a green light to temporarily rejoin their former group.

The gig will also feature Alick Macheso, Leonard Zhakata, Romeo Gasa and Jah Prayzah.

Moyo yesterday said he was grateful with the support he got from Mutodi and Patson Chimbodza who is the organiser of the show.

“This is one of the shows that one would not want to miss and I am happy that Mutodi has agreed to lend me the three band members,” said Moyo.

He said he was making final preparations ahead of the gig and had roped in four other new members besides the Mutodi Stars trio.

“We are going to meet with them (Mutodi Stars trio) today and make the final team. I believe we are going to work well as a team,” said Moyo.

Shiga Shiga, who is Mutodi Stars manager, confirmed the deal saying they were happy to assist their former boss.

“We have no problem assisting the Young Igwe (as Moyo is affectionately known) because we are fellow artistes. Besides, we have no problem with him at all,” said Shiga Shiga.

He urged fellow artistes and promoters to support Moyo in this hard time.

Chimbodza said he was happy that Mutodi had shown maturity and urged fellow artistes to emulate him.

“We have to work together as artistes. I am happy. Peter has to go for these shows to get money to cater for those who are in the hospital, so fellow artistes and promoters must support him,” said Chimbodza.
