A ZIMBABWEAN man, who allegedly broke into a fellow national’s home in South Africa and fatally stabbed him before fleeing back home, was last Friday extradited to South Africa for trial.

Nkosiyabo Dube (22) was arrested in Bulawayo sometime last year in connection with the alleged murder of Sipho Dube in South Africa.
He has been appearing before the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Courts since August last year facing murder charges.
On Friday, Dube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Learnmore Mapiye for extradition after South African authorities asked Zimbabwean authorities to extradite him for trial.
Mapiye ordered that Dube be extradited to South Africa, but did not give the time frame.
The court heard that on July 31 2011, Sipho was sleeping at his his home at 97 Milton Court, Johannesburg, SA, when Dube allegedly broke into his room at around 12 midnight.
It is the State case that a quarrel ensued after Sipho complained over Dube’s conduct.

In the ensuing mêleé, Dube armed with a knife, allegedly pounced on Sipho and stabbed him in the throat.
Sipho died on the spot, but Dube fled from the scene and allegedly crossed the border into Zimbabwe.
He was arrested after a Zimbabwean man, who allegedly saw him committing the offence in that country, came home and made a report to the police.
In his warned and cautioned statement, Dube claimed that he stabbed Sipho in self defence.
