The talented midfielder spoke to NewsDay Sport  on the sidelines just of his Under-18 junior tournament that ended in Mutare on Sunday.

Deportivo La Sakubva, coached by Premiership outfit  Buffaloes assistant coach SichoMasachi clinched the title with a well deserved 6-0 win against Barons in the final and walked away with $1 000, a kit and floating trophy.

Katsande said the tournament was a learning curve for him. “I would like to thank all the teams that participated. There are some players l noticed who have potential to make it on the big stage. What they need is a lot of exposure, good guidance and discipline to be noticed globally,” he said.

“I didn’t expect that kind of support. l’m overwhelmed with the support from the people of Mutare and mostly the organisers who did a wonderful job and my promise is that next year it will be better, since it was just a learning curve,” added Katsande.

Buffaloes head coach Saul Chaminuka who watched the proceedings from the terraces said local junior coaches should attend various coaching courses to improve the game from the grassroots level.
