A CHIKURUBI Maximum Prison inmate Morgan Ruzvidzo’s hope for discharge from prison in two weeks’ time, after serving a six-year-jail term, went up in smoke after he was caught pants down sodomising a fellow inmate inside a dog kennel. REPORT BY CHARLES LAITON SENIOR COURT REPORTER The two inmates, serving terms for different offences, were on Wednesday this week back at the Harare Magistrates’ Court after they were allegedly caught red-handed having annal sex in the dog kennel.

Ruzvidzo (40) and Marceline Kadungure (22) were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Anita Tshuma charged with aggravated indecent assault.

Ruzvidzo’s expectation to be released were, however, dealt a heavy blow after prosecution opposed bail and urged the court to remand the pair in custody to December 28.

Their trial date, however, was set for January 29 next year.

The incident, which apparently landed Ruzvidzo and Kadungure in trouble, allegedly occurred at the prison farm in Highlands, Harare, on November 6 this year.

The court heard that on the day in question, prison officer Nyashadzashe Mawereza was carrying out routine security checks around the premises at around 12pm.

He, however, noticed that the dog kennel was not locked as per normal practice and decided to get closer and establish why it had not been secured.

The court heard that Mawereza then peeped inside the kennel and to his disbelief saw Ruzvidzo in the process of sodomising Kadungure.

Mawereza immediately informed the officer-in-charge who then reported the pair to police, leading to their arrest.
