Monomotapa impressed many with their passing brand of football and fell short of silverware when they lost to Dynamos in the Mbada Diamonds Cup where they had accounted for Highlanders along the way.

They finished the season as the only team to beat Bosso after a 3-0 thrashing of the Bulawayo giants in the league and a 3-2 win in the Mbada Diamonds Cup quarter-final.

In the league match, Mukuradare hammered in a hat-trick.

Because of the good run, they have come under pressure from clubs stalking some of their players.

Bosso are front runners to sign the talented forward who is resisting persuasion from Monoz after his contract expired at the end of the season.

A source close to the player said that Mukuradare is weighing his options and will sign for the team that comes up with the best offer.

That effectively rules out struggling Monomotapa who went for several months without paying its players due to financial constraints.

“He is unlikely to sign for Monomotapa. He is looking to sign for a team that comes up with the best offer,” said the source.

“Highlanders have made an offer as have Dynamos, Harare City and Black Mambas. He also has had meetings with his coaches at Monomotapa who have been trying to persuade him to commit to the club, but he is yet to make up his mind.”

Highlanders, Dynamos and Black Mambas all have their players’ salaries paid by BancABC, but where Mukuradare will play his football next season will also depend on which club comes up with a good signing on fee.

Harare City is one of the most financially stable teams in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and they could pose a threat to Highlanders.

Dynamos have not made serious moves to sign the player although they have shown interest.

They will first see what becomes of the future of such players as Rodreck Mutuma, Denver Mukamba and Simba Sithole who are attracting foreign interest.
