DYNAMOS yesterday signed goalkeeper Artwell Mukandi from Monomotapa as the league champions raced against time to beat the Caf Champions League player registration.

The registration deadline expires today at midnight and any player registered thereafter would cost the club a $500 fine.

The Glamour Boys, who are the country’s only representative in Africa this year, yesterday managed to capture the former Monoz goalie while negotiations for other players on their wish list continued.

Mukandi’s manager Gibson Mahachi confirmed the deal yesterday.

“He has joined Dynamos. He signed a two and half year contract this afternoon (yesterday),” Mahachi said yesterday.

Reports last night also suggested that the Harare giants had managed to capture former Highlanders and Caps United midfielder Stephen Alimenda and Ugandan striker Boban Ziruntusa, who turns out for Twalumba in the Northern Region Division One.

A source said Dynamos and Hwange have also agreed a one-year loan deal for striker Francesco Zikumbawire.

There was no confirmation from Dynamos officials yesterday as they were said to be locked in meetings.

Denver Mukamba and Devon Chafa’s contracts are yet to be renewed while the team is set to lose goalkeeper George Chigova after they failed to meet the transfer fee with Aces Youth Soccer Academy.

“Denver and Devon are yet to sign. We are still negotiating,” said Mahachi, who is also the duo’s agent.

The negotiations for Mukamba seem to have been complicated by the sudden interest shown by Absa Premiership side Bidvest Wits on the pencil-slim player.

Dynamos’ wish list also includes Monomotapa winger Russel Madamombe. Monoz chairman yesterday said they are willing to release the player.

“Dynamos approached us yesterday (Thursday) and we have told them to put their offer in writing. If the offer is right, then we will let him go. We don’t stand in players’ way, that is not our policy at Monomotapa,” said Mukoki.
