Isaac Isabirinye Kiwarabu (35) pleaded guilty to contravening Section 29 as read with Section 13 of the Immigration Act when he appeared before magistrate Fanny Nyakudya this week.

Prosecutor Lucky Dube told the court that on November 26 Kiwarabu entered Zimbabwe through the Beitbridge Border Post without a valid passport.

The court heard that two unidentified Nigerian nationals, who are still at large, helped him evade immigration officials before they later dumped him in Banket.

Kiwarabu’s luck ran out after he was embroiled in a dispute with a kombi conductor over a $3 fare on his way back to Harare after he indicated he only had $2.

The kombi crew alerted police detectives who were in the vehicle, leading to his arrest.
