CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League clubs Caps United and FC Platinum are reported to be chasing the signature of former Premiership side Quelaton midfielder Mhleli Sibanda as they seek to boost their squads for the 2013 season.

Report by Sukoluhle Mthethwa Dynamos are also said to be keen on the services of Sibanda after his exhilarating performance in the Mbada Diamonds Cup first round match against them in Harare in September.

After a woeful performance in the Premiership, Quelaton were not given a chance against Dynamos by critics, but proved they proved a handful for Dynamos on the day in question with Sibanda a marvel to watch.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time with Dynamos emerging 4-2 winners on penalties.

Sibanda (21) can also play as a striker.

Sibanda yesterday told NewsDay Sport that the three clubs had communicated with him.

“I have received calls from Dynamos, FC Platinum and Caps United saying they want me to join them. I am not sure which club I will sign for, but the three have shown interest in me.”

He said a move would be good for him as he was aiming to play outside the country in the future.

“It is off-season now, but I am working very hard because I know that I can get exposure if I play for any of those clubs. I want to play outside the country. I’m going to the gym and doing road running to keep in shape,” he said.

Sibanda started playing football with Highlanders juniors (Under-13) in 2004 before he joined Division Two side Otrick.

He then moved to another Division Two side Sparrows in 2006 before joining Quelaton in 2008, a club he played for until they were promoted into the Premiership. Quelaton were relegated last season.
