The former Kaizer Chiefs left-back gave Argyle the lead in the 26th minute, finishing off a rebound after a free kick had crashed against a post.

Former England striker James Beattie equalised early in the second half for Stanley as the two teams shared the points.

Bhasera, who is playing as a winger at his club and was part of Rahman Gumbo’s squad in the failed Africa Cup of Nations campaign this year, scored a single goal last season. Argyle striker Nick Chadwick was full of praise for Bhasera after the match.

“He is an experienced player for us and he has got great quality with his left foot. All credit to Baz (Bhasera) for getting his goal. I think he brings not only that quality, but a bit of experience back into the team as well,” said Chadwick.

Bhasera’s goal earned his team a valuable point as they continue their fight against relegation.

Argyle are on 20th position on the 24 team log standings, and just four points away from the relegation cut-off point.

Bhasera’s recent form will come as a confidence booster for the 26-year-old star who has recently been linked with a January move to English Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

The Mutare-born player has also reportedly attracted the interest of Belgian top-flight side Cercle Brugge and Oud-Heverlee Leuven.

Leuven are home to Warriors midfielder Ovidy Karuru, while Cercle are former club of Vusa Nyoni, Honour Gombami and Obadiah Tarumbwa.

Sheffield Wednesday have renewed their bid for the player, whom they nearly landed in January 2010 before a knee problem prevented him from signing.

Baz, as Bhasera is affectionately known at Plymouth Argyle, is arguably the club’s best player and he is still contracted for two years.
