Mtukudzi, affectionately known as Tuku among his fans, turned 60 on September 22 and had an outstanding celebration with fellow artists and fans at a show at Glamis Stadium in Harare.

The musician has toured a number of cities in the country to celebrate his achievements with fans and this time he goes to Bulawayo to meet his fans and share experiences of his lengthy music career.

Events Africa director Jomo Mhone expressed delight at hosting the legendary superstar in the City of Kings.

“It is an honour for us to be asked by Tuku himself to host this belated birthday bash for him. He also felt that he owed it to his legion of Bulawayo fans to celebrate with them,” said Mhone.

“We have run a list of possible celebrities that will perform with him. We are yet to confirm with some of them and as a result we cannot release the names as yet.”

Mtukudzi last month also celebrated his birthday in style in Harare. South African musicians Ringo Madlingozi, Dorothy Masuka and Steve Dyer featured at the Glamis Stadium celebrations that attracted more than 15 000 fans.
