PRIME Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka, who was involved in a near-fatal accident in Domboshawa on Sunday, was still battling for his life in the intensive care unit at a local hospital, although MDC-T officials described his condition as improving.Report by Staff Reporter

Party organising secretary Nelson Chamisa last night said they were optimistic Tamborinyoka would recover. “There is a steady improvement. I’ve just seen him and I must say from what I saw, his condition is much better compared to how he was on Sunday.

He looks stable although the sight is still not pleasing. It’s clear God is in charge. The grace and glory of the Almighty is quite evident,” he said.

Tsvangirai, who is reportedly in Britain with his wife Elizabeth Macheka, yesterday sent a message to the Tamborinyoka family, saying: “Our thoughts at present are with Luke and his family. Luke is a family man and we appreciate that this is a challenging time for everyone who is close to him. We trust that God gives them courage . . . In these moments, we look to the doctors for their skill and also spiritually to God for His comforting and healing hand.”

The Welshman Ncube-led MDC party also wished the former Zimbabwe Union of Journalists secretary-general a speedy recovery.

“We wish Tamborinyoka, the spokesperson of PM Tsvangirai, a speedy recovery. We pray for God’s grace and healing for Luke after a very bad accident. Please take a moment in your day to say a prayer for him. We believe,” party spokesperson Nhlanhla Dube said.
