Marble Tech managing director Masimba Muyemayema was attacked at his house in Greendale suburb just as he was about to open the gate.

Harare provincial spokesperson Inspector Tadius Chibanda, confirmed the incident.

“The complainant was driving from work at around 7.50pm and as he parked by the gate while waiting for it to be opened, he was approached by three men,” he said.

“One of the three men is said to have grabbed him by the neck and the others went into the car.

“The other one then stabbed him with a knife on the right thigh and right shoulder and pushed him out of the vehicle, a Pajero stationwagon.”

Chibanda said the robbers drove away with $33 000, which was in the dashboard, for which Muyemayema intended to use in purchasing company equipment.

Muyemayema is said to have suffered a deep cut on the shoulder and was referred to hospital.

The vehicle was, however, recovered the following morning burnt to ashes in Cranborne and the case is still under investigation.

Chibanda warned people to avoid the tendency of moving around with large sums of cash.

“We are saying people should utilise electronic transfers that are there nowadays and avoid moving around with large sums of money as this attracts the attention of robbers through people they work with,” he said.
