The latest green balloon, which has a “No Devolution, No Constitution” message inscribed on it, has a tracking device, the party claims.

MDC spokesperson Nhlanhla Dube yesterday said security details had been hired to protect the balloon.

“The concept is to communicate our messages to every Zimbabwean. Information on it will be periodically changing depending on the political situation.

“So, people who don’t hear us on radios can just gaze into the sky and read our message,” he said, adding that the concept would be introduced at party offices throughout the country.

In August, the first balloon caused a stir in the city as a huge crowd gathered at the party’s offices shooting pictures and inquiring about the balloon which had the Welshman Ncube-led MDC’s symbols. An eight-man gang allegedly cut it off at night.
